Support Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine

We stand with our colleague and all beings in Ukraine that desire to be free from tyranny and oppression.
Lantern Publishing & Media

As part of Lantern’s emergency response to help Ukraine, we have set up a fundraising campaign supporting these three organizations: Vostok SOS, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, and UAnimals. 100% of all donations made through the portal below will go to these organizations currently providing critical support in Ukraine.

Every week, Lantern will give away one of our books to two donors selected at random. This week’s book giveaway is Vegan Voices. We thank the Lantern community for your generous participation and hope you will consider contributing.

Vostok SOS ↗

Vostok SOS is a non-governmental organization that started as a volunteer civil initiative and a hotline in May 2014.

They help find shelter for internally displaced persons (IDPs), assist in the evacuation of people from the conflict zone, collect and distribute humanitarian aid to IDPs in Kyiv as well as front-line settlements, and provide psychological first aid. They also help victims of abductions, monitor and document human rights violations, and reported on the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA) was founded in New York City in 1925 and has been providing international aid since. Their efforts have included disaster relief, medical and educational funding, and preserving Ukrainian culture.

Their Ukraine humanitarian aid funding is being directed at four military hospitals, displaced and wounded civilians (which are mostly women and children), and the purchase of food, clothing, shelter, medicines and medical supplies.

UAnimals ↗

Since 2016, UAnimals has been protecting animals from exploitation and abuse. They’ve banned circuses with animals in two dozen cities, made several dozen designers agree to abandon natural fur, and pushed for several important animal rights laws over recent years.

However, UAnimals’ main efforts are now focused on rescuing animals from the war in Ukraine. They help shelters financially, provide them (and citizens) with pet food, and evacuate animals to other countries. They evacuated over 120 cats in a single week this March.
