Janell O’Rourke

Janell O’Rourke is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Queens New York. Janell has a BFA from Colorado State University, an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and has done postgraduate studies at New York University. Her recent work has been exhibited at the National Museum of Animals & Society in Los Angeles, Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, New York, and St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, New York. She has received a number of awards, including the Merit Award, Vermont College of Fine Arts (2011); the Soaring Gardens Artists’ Retreat, Pennsylvania (2010); and the Individual Artist Initiative from Queens Council for the Arts (2009). She is a founding member of the collective ArtAnimalAffect. Her website is janellorourke.com.

Murchadh Ó Madagáin

Fr. Murchadh Ó Madagáin (pronounced Mur-a-ca) grew up in Galway, in the West of Ireland, in a family of seven children. In 1998 he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Galway, where he then worked for the following 14 years. In 2002 he completed his Licentiate in Theology in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth. In 2005 he graduated with a doctorate in Spiritual Theology, from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas (“The Angelicum”), in Rome. In 2013 he moved to Florida where he now works in the diocese of Venice, Florida.

He has published three books: St. Thérèse of Lisieux: Through Love and Suffering (St. Paul, London, 2003); Centering Prayer and the Healing of the Unconscious (Lantern, 2007); By the Word of Their Testimony: The Journey of a Priest (Lantern, 2009).
